The staff were very friendly and helpful and they treat you like you are a personal guest. The hotel is small and intimate so you get to know the other guests over breakfast or a drink in the living area. It is a very comfortable place with wonderful decor and views of Table Mountain. I highly recommend An African Villa if you are looking for a quiet spot that is close to all of Cape Town's highlights.

The owners were there every day and always helpful and interested in helping to recommend activities, restaurants and anything else we needed. It is a very warm and welcoming place. It is on a beautiful street and very quiet at night, but easy walking or bus to downtown. It is uniquely decorated, with guest rooms separated in different sections of the house, so little noise from other guests. Breakfast is great with lots of choices. Excellent internet is free. A wonderful place to stay.
I liked everything about it. If I go back to Capetown, I will definitely stay there again!

The room was really in keeping with the theme of an African hotel. The hotel is also located on a quiet back street and so you can sleep well even with the windows wide open. The staff were also super helpful and always on hand for advice of what to see and do in cape town.

I was traveling alone and had no time to plan my time off prior to arrival and the owners were fabulous about recommending what I should see and do. They also recommended amazing restaurants where I would be comfortable dining alone.

The staff and hosts were so friendly and helpful, I can't say enough about them. We were welcomed with a complimentary drink. Cindy sat down with us and gave us info about the area, places to see etc. She worked out our itinery for the week and helped us book a wine tour and arranged car hire. She also booked dinner reservations locally for us. This hotel is in a lovely quiet area with plenty of parking and good restaurants nearby. I highly recommend this hotel.
